Why Should My Child Train Judo?

Judo is a Japanese martial art and Olympic Sport that emphasizes throws, sweeps, and grappling techniques.

Our Program Will Help Your Child:

Class is taught by our Black Belt instructor Georgie who has over 40 years' experience in training Judo.

​

Class is designed for students aged 10 years and up.

What is Judo?

Judo emphasizes throws, grappling, and submission techniques, with a focus on using an opponent's energy and momentum to gain advantage.

Techniques Taught in Class:

  • Fundamentals (martial arts base, fighting stance and movements)

  • Throws, Sweeps and Takedowns

  • Groundwork / Grappling

  • Cardio and Sports Conditioning

What to Wear

A Judo Gi / Kimono is required for Judo class. Underneath your Judo Gi we recommend wearing comfortable and functional clothing. This includes athletic tops, fitness bottom, minimal/no jewelry and no shoes.
